Dh3,000 in perks for hosting visitors in Dubai: how A Dubai Invite works

Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism launched something I have not seen a city do at this scale: it pays residents for bringing visitors. The programme is called A Dubai Invite. You nominate a friend or relative abroad, they arrive between 20 July and 31 October 2026, and you receive a package of hotel, dining, and attraction benefits worth more than Dh3,000 per eligible nomination. Summer is the low season here; DET is turning every resident into a distribution channel for it.

The mechanics, step by step

• Register your visitors' details and arrival month on the official nomination form before they arrive. Up to 5 visitors per submission, and you can submit as many entries as you like.
• Your guests arrive between 20 July and 31 October 2026, by air, sea, or road. Nothing to do at the border: DET is notified of the arrival automatically.
• Once the arrival is verified, the full benefits package lands in your email within 72 hours, with redemption steps for each benefit. Note that packages are issued starting August 2026.
• The rewards stay valid until 31 December 2026, unless a specific benefit states otherwise. Standard blackout dates can apply to individual offers, so read each voucher's own terms.

Who qualifies

• The host: any UAE citizen or resident, of any nationality, aged 18 or over, holding a valid Emirates ID.
• The guest: anyone who is not a UAE resident, entering on a valid tourist visa or eligible for visa on arrival within the campaign window.
• Someone already inside the UAE cannot be nominated; only arrivals after your submission count.
• Each visitor can be nominated once across the whole programme. If someone else nominated them first, their entry is taken.
• You do not need the whole group to show up: if at least one visitor from your nomination arrives, you qualify.
• The cap: a maximum of 3 benefit packages per resident.
• The programme does not arrange visas. Your guests handle their own visa, on arrival or in advance; I covered the long-stay option in my 5-year tourist visa guide.

What the form asks for

Have these ready before you sit down; the submission takes minutes when you do:

• Your Emirates ID, date of birth, and email address.
• Each guest's passport number, date of birth, and nationality.
• Each guest's arrival month.

What the package actually contains

DET values the bundle at more than Dh3,000 per eligible nomination: hotel stays, dining offers, attraction tickets, and lifestyle extras. The published partner list is real hotels, not filler: Meliá Desert Palm offers 45 percent off rooms plus a Dh100 spa credit and a Dh100 dining credit per stay. ME Dubai by Meliá gives 35 percent off the best rate, a complimentary upgrade, kids under 12 free, and 35 percent off restaurants and spa. The three Mina Seyahi properties (W Dubai, The Westin, Le Méridien) convert your room charge into a full credit you can spend at their restaurants and spas. IHG hotels add a third night free and up to 30 percent off dining. Careem and Hala are in the partner list for getting around.

As always with bundles, the value you extract depends on how much of it you would have bought anyway. A family that books a staycation and eats out will capture most of the Dh3,000. Someone who redeems one dinner will not.

If something goes wrong

The failure mode to know about: the benefits email. Packages are issued from August 2026, and the email should arrive within 72 hours of your visitor's verified arrival. Why I am covering a tourism promo on a property site

Because the single most reliable step in every purchase I have closed with overseas buyers is the visit. People do not wire six figures to a city they have not walked. A programme that lowers the cost of that first visit, in the exact months when flights and hotels are cheapest, is a scouting subsidy in disguise. If your relatives have been circling the idea of Dubai, this is the cheapest summer to show them the city, and to walk a few buildings while they are here.

My read

Cities usually spend their tourism budget on influencers. Dubai just routed part of it through the people who actually know the city: its residents. The caps are sensible, the partners are legitimate, and the window is generous.
